Why Obsidia

What Makes the Work Worthwhile

We work with owners who have already built something worth replicating. Our focus is on the operational side of expansion — the parts that need to be clearly defined before a model can travel.

Operational Focus

We work on how your business runs — not on legal structures or sales pitch. That keeps the outputs grounded and genuinely usable.

Plain-Language Outputs

Manuals and frameworks written so that a new franchisee — not just a consultant — can actually follow them day to day.

Owner-Led Sessions

Every engagement is run directly with the business owner. No handoffs to junior staff partway through the work.

Staged Entry Points

You can start with a single session to assess where things stand, then decide whether to proceed further. No obligation to commit to the full programme upfront.

Malaysia-Specific Context

We understand the Malaysian market — the operational norms, the supplier landscape, and the practical realities of running multi-outlet businesses locally.

Deliverables You Keep

Every engagement produces a tangible document or framework. You are not left with recommendations alone — you leave with something to hand off or build on.

Not Sure Where Your Business Stands?

A Replicability Session is a low-commitment way to find out. We assess what is ready, what needs attention, and whether a franchise path makes sense for your specific situation.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of businesses do you work with?
We work with Malaysian business owners who have an operating business — typically one to several outlets — and are thinking seriously about what it would take to let others replicate it. The sector varies: food and beverage, retail, services, education, and others. What matters more than sector is that the business is functional and the owner wants to understand what expansion would actually require.
Does the Replicability Session commit me to anything further?
No. The session is a standalone engagement. At the end you receive a readiness note summarising what we found and where we see sensible first steps. Whether you proceed to further work — with Obsidia or otherwise — is entirely your decision. Many owners find the session valuable just for the clarity it provides.
How long does the Operations Manual Engagement take?
The typical timeline is four to eight weeks, depending on the complexity of the business and how readily the owner can make time for sessions. We work in stages — capturing information, drafting sections, reviewing — so the process is structured rather than rushed.
Do you handle legal franchise documentation?
No. Our work sits on the operational side — the documentation, processes, training structures, and standards that make a business replicable. We do not draft franchise agreements, disclosure documents, or legal contracts. For those, you would work with a qualified franchise lawyer separately. We are happy to explain where our scope ends so you know what else you may need.
What is included in the Franchise Framework Programme?
The programme covers workshops to map and validate how your business operates, a set of documented operational standards, and a training outline structured for new franchise holders. It is designed for owners who are closer to actual expansion and need the non-legal building blocks in place before approaching franchisees or investors.
How are sessions conducted — in person or online?
We work from our Kuala Lumpur office and can conduct sessions in person at our Menara TM address or at your premises where that is more practical. For owners outside the Klang Valley, sessions can be arranged online. We discuss the most suitable format when confirming your engagement.
